Happy Thanksgiving!

Think about people you have thanked this year.

Why did you thank them?

You received a gift from them.

You needed help and they helped you.

They were there for you in good times and in bad. They were a real friend to you.

They love you, and they showed that love in some way.\

They love you, and they showed that love in some way.

God is a person.

Well, actually, God is three people.

Here’s a practical suggestion:

Don’t let Thanksgiving be the only time you think about things you are grateful for.

Get with the Lord on a regular basis to thank Him for stuff.

Here’s a great way to think about things to thank God for:

1. His Gifts
2. His Help
3. Being there for you
4. Loving you

When we were His enemies, He was there for us.

He gave us His one and only Son to die for us.

Rom 5:8-11

God loves you and me. That’s the overwhelming message of the New Testament.

Joh 3:16-17
Eph 2:4-8
2Th 2:13-14
Gal 2:20

Eph 5:1-2
1Jo 3:1-3, 3:16
1Jo 4:9-11, 4:15-16
Rom 8:35-39

The Holy Spirit is our helper. He is here to help us every day of our lives.

Joh 14:16-17, 14:25-27

He helps us by praying for us.

He helps us by enabling us to grow.

He helps us by overcoming our flesh.

He helps us by overcoming our flesh.

He helps us by producing the fruit of the Spirit as we walk by means of the Spirit.

Love, Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Gentleness. Goodness. Faithfulness.
Self-control.

And Jesus invites us
to be His friends.

Joh 15:9-17

God has blessed us with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. (Eph 1:1-23)

Paul was always thanking God for the Christians God put in his life.

Phi 1:1-7

14. You have been forgiven of all your sins.
Col 1:13-14, 2:13-14

28. You have Christ in you, and that is the surest hope of the glory that awaits you.
Col 1:27

36. You will be conformed to the image of God’s Son Jesus Christ!
Rom 8:29

38. God is causing all things to work together for good in your life. Rom 8:28

We can be grateful, finally, for God Himself, each of the 3 Persons.

God is going to keep on being loving, and gracious, and good.

When you take time to recall some of God’s blessings to you, you will find that you can’t help but be grateful to Him.

Phi 4:4-9
