Class Outline:
Paul gives his fullest treatment of this analogy of the body in 1 Corinthians 12.
Chapters 12-14 are about one subject: spiritual gifts.
Each of us receives a manifestation of the Spirit - better known as a spiritual gift.
A ministry is a setting for believers to use their spiritual gift to benefit of particular members of the body.
We can think of these as the results, the production, of our ministries.
The Spirit distributes these divine gifts.
The Lord Jesus establishes the opportunities to serve others with our gifts.
And the Father produces the supernatural results.
a. Divine in origin
b. Miraculous in manifestation
c. Supernatural in operation
The Greek word for “manifestation” is phanerosis.
It means a visual display, an exhibition, an appearance.
Our spiritual gift is a channel that the Spirit of God uses to minister to the body.
Each of us gets a gift that everyone else needs. I need yours, and you need mine.
Grace is unmerited blessing from God.
