“Who you talkin’ about ?”

ROM 3:28
For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.

By grace through faith, or
By law through works.

One of these roads - works of law - has been completely and permanently blocked by our sin, the weakness of our flesh.

Since we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God, since there is none righteous, not even one…

Faith is the ONLY genuine road to salvation, and way to God. Faith in Christ.

2. “There is none righteous, not even one.” (Romans 1:18-3:20)

This section of scripture tells us why we need a Savior.

It tells us what we have been saved from - the wrath of God.

And shows us why we should be determined to preach the gospel to the unbeliever.

Ungodliness is the direct disregard of God. It is the reversal of our proper relationship to God.

Unrighteousness is refusal to be ruled by God. It is wickedness of conduct. It is behavior that is contrary to God’s established standard.

Ungodliness leads to unrighteousness. Ungodliness comes first.

This section of Romans is describing the unregenerate human race. The ungodly. The unrighteous. Unbelievers.

if you are a believer in Christ, this is describing what you WERE, but NOT WHO YOU ARE!

The following terms in the New Testament refer to UNBELIEVERS:

Sinners
Ungodly
Unrighteous
Sons of disobedience

As a believer, you are a SAINT. You are the beloved of God.
God’s adopted sons and daughters.

You are justified.
You are righteous.

Does God consider a believer in Christ to be a “sinner”?

NO.

The New Testament never clearly identifies the believer in Christ as a sinner, and often clearly identifies the unbeliever as a sinner.
