The Activity of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Church Age believers, part 38.

The Lord has brought His Church into being for the specific purpose of displaying the power of His resurrection.

He allows things to get so desperate that there is no other power in the universe that can deliver us from the situation….
…except…

The power of His resurrection!

The only way we know for sure it is resurrection power is when it conquers death, something beyond human ability to touch.

And have that life ABUNDANTLY, meaning that, despite the pressure and attacks, God is supreme…

…and He allows the attacks simply to deepen your experience of His life, and enlarge your capacity to register that life on this lost and dying world.

And to bring you back to first things first, and with God, the first thing is His love.

Here he is making a clear distinction between the way that he and all those in the Old Testament age of Israel experienced the Spirit, …

… and the outpouring of the Spirit that will come as a result of the life, death and resurrection, ascension and session of Jesus.

1. In the Church Age each and every believer will receive the outpouring, the gift, the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Without measure.

This is different from the Old Testament when a few chosen men received the Spirit resting on them temporarily to perform a specific task.

1CO 12:13
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

2. He does not measure out a little of the Spirit here, a little there. He POURS OUT the Spirit in rivers of living water. Unlimited potential for whomever receives the Spirit.
