Discernment from spiritual growth is part of being equipped to function effectively in your spiritual gift.

What is discernment?

Spiritual discernment is the ability to be able to consistently see or read a situation accurately according to the standards of the word of God.

Spiritual discernment is the skill in separating divine truth from error and half truth.

Biblical discernment is demonstrated in the correct application of sound doctrine to one’s circumstances.

Spiritual discernment is the heightened ability to read or hear a teaching, to encounter a problem, or to consider a proposed course of action…,

…, and then determine whether the source behind the teaching, problem or action is divine, merely human, or satanic.

PRO 26:27
He who digs a pit will fall into it,
And he who rolls a stone, it will come back on him.

Discernment is the result of a studied familiarity with a subject gained by actively putting into practice the principles required for success.

The Hebrew word for discernment is biyn. It means to discern and to distinguish, and it has the idea of being able to separate.

PSA 19:12
Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.
