Spiritual Gifts Part 85: Transliteration is ruining the nation!

The Doctrine of the Baptism by the Spirit

Adoption is for the purpose of glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ by bringing many sons to glory (HEB 2:10; ROM 8:28-30)

HEB 2:10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.

ROM 8:29
For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;

Our adoption as sons and daughters is accomplished through our union with Christ.

It is a result not only of regeneration but also the baptism by the Spirit, which places the new believer into a permanent organic union with the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Doctrine of Spiritual Gifts

Point 2. The Giver of the Gifts: The Person and Work of God the Holy Spirit

The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is one of the six permanent ministries of God the Holy Spirit at salvation.

1. Efficacious Grace
2. Indwelling of the Spirit
3. Regeneration
4. the Baptism by the Spirit 5. the Sealing with the Spirit 6. the Distribution of Spiritual Gifts.

A. Efficacious grace is that work of the Holy Spirit that takes the faith of a spiritually dead person and makes it effective for salvation.

B. The second ministry of the Holy Spirit at salvation is called regeneration or being born again. It is taught in TIT 3:5; 1PE 1:23.

Regeneration consists of the impartation of the life of God, eternal life, to a sinner who is spiritually dead.

Regeneration is the ministry of God the Holy Spirit at salvation in creating a human spirit, which causes the believer to become instantly trichotomous--body, soul, and spirit, 1TH 5:23; Phile 25.

At the moment of salvation, on the basis of God the Holy Spirit providing the human spirit to the believer, God the Father imputes and imparts His very own eternal life to that human spirit.

C. The Baptism by the Spirit is the ministry of God the Holy Spirit in taking every new believer and entering him into permanent vital union with the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Cor 5:17
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

This baptism by the Holy Spirit is unique to the Church Age believer.

The Baptism by the Spirit is the basis for unity in the Body of Christ.

This subject gets attacked relentlessly by the kingdom of darkness.

The believer who understands and lives in his position in Christ is going to have victory over the enemies of Christ.

The Bible in the original language turns out to be really helpful in cutting through all the confusion. (imagine that? )

Water baptism was a teaching tool during the ministry of John the Baptist and the transitional period documented in the book of Acts.
