JOH 11:33-36

“Let Us make man in Our image”

What does it mean to be human?

To be human is to have a heart, a soul, a mind, and a body. (Mark 12:28-31)

PSA 8:3-9

Psalm 8 describes man as God originally intended him to be.

Psalm 8 is cited (without attribution!) in Hebrews chapter 2.

The subject of Hebrews chapter 2 is the humanity of Jesus.

Hebrews chapter 2: the humanity of Jesus and the reason why God’s Son took flesh.

HEB 2:5-18

Man fell short of the glory that God designed him to have.

Death was not part of God’s original design for mankind.

HEB 2:5-18 is a magnificent passage on the humanity of Jesus.

Jesus is a different order of man. He is one of a kind.

1TI 6:15-16

This certainly does not describe mankind today.

GEN 1:26-31

God determined that man would be the highest order of creation.

He would be made in God’s image and likeness.

God gave man the authority to rule over His creation on earth, in sky and sea.

God blessed the human race with every natural blessing on earth.
